Crossword Mania! PROGRAM HISTORY
--------------------------------
4/19/95 - Version 1.0
- Initial release of the program.
5/16/95 - Version 1.01 - Bug fixes
- Fixed a nasty installation bug where a corrupted version of
COMMDLG.DLL was being installed in certain systems. Now COMMDLG.DLL
is not provided on the setup disks, and is assumed to already exist
in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This files comes with all
versions of Windows so this should be OK.
- In order to prevent future version incompatability problems with
certain files, all *.DLL and *.VBX files are now installed in the
same directory as CROSS.EXE, instead of the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory.
- There was a problem building puzzles with 'Generate' when the grid
width did not equal the grid length. Fixed.
- It was possible to manually add clues for a puzzle whose grid
contained one-letter words. Crossword puzzles with one-letter words
are not supported in Crossword Mania! Fixed.
8/6/95 - Version 1.02 - Bug Fixes
- If the current puzzle font was set to a font that was not installed
in Windows, and a puzzle was loaded, an error ('Invalid Property
Value') occured. Fixed.
- It is now possible to solve and build puzzles containing non-English
characters in both the puzzle grid and clues. Before, only the
English 'A-Z' and '0-9' characters could be used on the grid.
- The work direction now changes when the puzzle solver clicks on one of
the clues list boxes (Across or Down).
- Sometimes when building a puzzle, clicking on 'Get a Word' would pop
up a list box with no words in them. Fixed.
- Sometimes if a non-Microsoft mouse was being used (especially
Logitech), either the cursor would freeze at certain times, or the
'Pencil' shape (seen when putting the cursor over the puzzle grid)
would be replaced with a black box. The code that changed the cursor
into a pencil shape was removed to fix this problem.
- Very large puzzles, needing more than one page to print all the
clues, would not print properly, often printing one clue per page
at certain times! Fixed.
- Selecting 'Puzzle Stats' when multiple puzzle were loaded would only
show the stats for the puzzle that was loaded first. Fixed.
